If we're drinking the kool-aid, your smoking the crack!!!!
No matter what side of the fence we are on, we need to get the economy moving and get people back to work. I don't believe that we've seen the bottom of this hole we have fallen into as a country. The general public does not want politics. They want HELP!
80% of the public is for this bill. Obama has a 68% approval rating(Highest ever within first week, with exception to JFK-72%)
Now I'm no Einstien, but if 80% of the public is for this and every single house republican voted against it......doesn't that spell trouble for the GOP in 2010????
I mean unless 80% of us are wrong and our president is wrong and this thing fails big time (A Rush Limbaugh wet dream). If this is the case then there will be egg all over our snearing liberal faces.
But if we are right........ well, you get the picture.
But i'm not worried about being right or wrong. I just want this country to go in a more prosperous direction.
And to be frank, If the republicans are just going to vote no on everything this man puts forward...why dont they just stay home?
The president has made every effort to try and connect with them but they just wont have it. And how childish is it when Boner...oh, im sorry...Boehner tells the house republicans to vote no before Obama even met with then to discuss the bill?
In final, if the GOP wants to punish Obama for winning that's one thing. But please.....don't take it out on us.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem!

A couple of holes to point out here:
ReplyDeleteAccording to Rasmussen(independent study): Forty-two percent (42%) of the nation’s likely voters now support the president’s plan, roughly one-third of which is tax cuts with the rest new government spending. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 39% are opposed to it and 19% are undecided. Liberal voters overwhelmingly support the plan while conservatives are strongly opposed.
Over the course of the past week, there has been little change in the views of either Republicans or Democrats towards the legislation. Seventy-four percent (74%) of Democrats support the plan along with just 18% of Republicans. Both those figures are up just a single point from the previous poll.

However, support among unaffiliated voters has fallen. A week ago, unaffiliateds were evenly divided on the plan, with 37% in favor and 36% opposed. Now, 50% of unaffiliated voters oppose the plan while only 27% favor it. http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/01/rasmussen_independents_oppose.asp
That "74% of Democrats" is your tweaked statistic of 80% support.
Even if we know we can't defeat it with all of our votes, why should we just lay down and die? That would further demoralize our Party. Would you want the Democrats to do the same if the tables were turned? Hmmm...?
What discussion needs to be had? We've been reading this thing for weeks now. What's left to say except, "Aw, c'mon guys...please say you will?"
Have you read the bill?
Have you thought about the long term effects of paying it back?
Doesn't it bother you that there is about 35% stimulus and 65% pork spending?
This is like sucking out all a man's blood then giving him an enema to save his life! WTF!?
Get used to our version of protest. We're not going away anytime soon. We don't march in the streets, yell at passers-by, or storm churches. We do the only thing that matters:
We VOTE!
P.S. Nice blog! Add some more stuff! :)
